Tuhua Diary - Day 1

Woke up and found out I was on an island, I was soaking wet and very depressed. I remembered that yesterday there was a strange swirling “cloud”. The “cloud” sucked our boat into the sky! Luckily everyone jumped off before the boat entered “cloud”. I jumped off and grabbed everything I could see and then I could remember no more.Anyway I walked around the island and I bumped into Isaac and Jimbob! We decided to stay together. We walked awhile and saw Mclaren! It seems that he was with Max and Jacob, but they dumped him and went away, so Mclaren joined us! We walked towards the beach and found Hannah, Ashleigh and Michaela! We decided to form a tribe!We have decided to get up this mountain tonight and reach a trig station!

Tuhua Diary - Day 2

Something happened yesterday and I still feel weird! We climbed up to the trig station. We were so tired that everyone except Mclaren and Jimbob just flopped over. We woke up from our black sleep and five things happened. One, 'Martha' started saying "Get out of my head!" Two, Isaac started breathing heavy and ran down the mountain, tripped over and tumbled into the sea. (He came out of the water about 10 minutes later.) Three, I felt so weird that I just wanted to get out of here, and Boom! I disappeared and appeared about 20 metres in front! Four, Ashleigh got so frustrated with the strange happenings and her hands blew up in flames! And lastly, Hannah was so dizzy from something and went bonkers! She ran into the sea and drank it! Luckily she said it tasted like fresh water! We have discussed it and figured that we have gained some 'powers'! Martha gained the power of telepathy, Isaac gained the power of a fish, I gained the power of teleportation, Ashleigh got the power to make fire and Hannah got the power to turn sea water into fresh water!After the fright we decided to get moving, we walked towards the beach and found a box, inside were: Rubber gloves, toilet rolls, scissors, tape. We quickly grabbed the stuff and walked on. We arrived about somewhere north north east of the island. It was hot so we had a nap. We woke up with hunger. So using the materials we got from the box we made a slingshot and killed a thrush. We picked the feathers of and roast it with Ashley’s power. Then we went to sleep.

Tuhua Diary - Day 3

I woke up from another ghastly night of terror. I dragged my stiff back up and stretched. Well might as well get going, to where? I woke up everyone and started walking. We walked for what seemed hours, limping with hunger. It was dusk."Hey!" I shouted and ran towards the sea. "Wait up!" The others trudged. I jumped in the air and landed by a shell. "Well that sucks; it's only a horn thing!" Isaac grumbled. "I wish it was something delicious like chocolate!" Ashleigh said.And believe it or not, chocolate 'grew' from the horn.We settled down with a cup of hot cocoa beside a blazing fire made by Ashley. I was so happy that I could taste pizza, bacon again! Suddenly a voice broke the silence. "Look, a hoe!" Mclaren grabbed the hoe out of the nearby bush. It wasn't a ordinary hoe. It had a greenstone as a blade!

Tuhua Diary - Day 4

Woke up and had hash browns for breakfast, finishing off with a cup of hot chocolate. We decided to stay on the bay. And Isaac said he would sulk if we went 'cause he loved the water! (Remember, he's a fish!) We started to make 'huts' to sleep in. I looked at the sea, and there in the distance. Was a ship! A Spanish galleon in fact! "Quick! Take cover!" Hannah shouted! I teleported, Isaac splashed into the water. And the rest jumped into the bushes. We were as silent as a hamburger. (Hamburgers don't make sound!) We saw it, the ship, with a trail of screams. I recognized it at once. It was the screams of Jacob and Max!It was dusk, we sat by the fire and our finished 'pa site!' "I have found out some things" said Michaela. "I have heard thoughts. This is what happened: 1. Mohamed has tried to rescue Max and Jacob. I don't know if he did. 2. Anna has drunk from the black lake, she is horribly sick, and 3. Lachlan has died by getting eaten by a shark! He has changed into something terrible!" "That's horrible!" Jimbob remarked. Then we froze, because out in the distance was a bright light!

Tuhua Diary - Day 5

I got packed up to check the strange light. It was only me, because I was fastest. I teleported towards the strange light, shining like an angel. At last I reached the light. I quickly hid behind a tree, and saw something I just couldn't believe! I saw creatures beyond my imagination. There were walking trees, this Maori monster, someone with a big head, and a dragon with a elephants trunk and a kangaroos leg. I swore under my breath. Quickly as the speed of light I speeded towards my fort, trying to step all over my fears.I never got to the fort.I am writing this diary with a ghostly hand, and I will tell you how I became ...a ghost!I was running, until I heard a scream! It was Max on the Pirate ship. Then I heard a sound, something I've never heard before, it was Mohamed the bat! (I forgot to tell you that he can turn into a bat!) "I'm gonna save max!" He shouted to me. "Well I'll help!" We got to the pirate ship and fought a short battle; I killed someone with the hoe! I teleported to rip someone else but then, I felt something, a pain I do not want to feel again. I got shot in the guts. Mohamed quickly flew away. "Hahahaha!" The pirates guffawed, and stabbed me in the heart. I felt a burning sensation and flew into the air. But the pirates could not see me, they were still stabbing. I had become a ghost!

Tuhua Diary - Day 6

They take Max, I try and save him, I die. Not a good way to die; and I didn't see my mom and dad one last time before my death.Thankfully this is a unusual island. Normally you would have gone to heaven/hell, but here you turn into ghosts! And I shall get revenge... sweet revenge...I flew towards the ship, eyeing it with eyes sharp as needles. I crept closer, and teleported. I appeared on the deck, but they could not see me! Oh well, at least I can scare them! But can I touch things? I slowly went to a pirate, and poked him. He jumped, "What the hell was that, someone just poked me!" He said "I think the sun has burned his brain!" chuckled another pirate. Slowly the talk died down, and work went on. Good, I can touch if I want to! I went to a spade and picked it up, "Oh my gosh! Look at the spade!" A pirate said! Everyone was startled, and chaos came! "There are ghosts!" They shouted! Oh well, I held the spade and hovered towards the captains cabin, and bashed the door down. "Who are you?" The captain said.I heard him but who cares? I smashed him with the spade and flew off into the air. Deep below I could hear screams and saw the boat rushing away. Oh no I forgot Max! I quickly rushed onto the pirate ship and grabbed Max, and dragged him into the air.

Tuhua Diary - Day 7

I walked around, lonely, all of a sudden a thing moved in the bushes. "Who are you?" I changed to "visible mode", as I finished my sentence a thing jumped towards me, I somehow recognized it.... it was Mr. Woody! But he looked... uh... different! He had a big bald head and he was only wearing a horrid looking Y-front! He started talking funny language, one I couldn't understand! "hhhhhhihhhhh, hhhhhhhhehhhhhlhhhhhphhh hhhhhmhhhhehhh" he said, I was startled. "Can you write?" And this is what he wrote: Hi, help me. I don't know why I can't talk normally, is it because of the cloud? I feel an empty space; it used to be happy, now it is full with stink. Can you help me???I thought for a while, but nothing could help. "Why don't you just come with me, we could gather room 9, they might be able to help." I told him. He started writing: That’s a good idea! Let’s start now! Since you are a ghost can you locate and tell all the students?"Ok!" I spoke, and vanished. I first appeared beside my fellow mates, Isaac, Mclaren, Hannah, Jimbob, Ashleigh, and Michaela. "Ernest?" They shivered, looking into my ghostly image. "Hi it's me, I 'died'! Anyway I found Mr. Woody, he wants you to meet him at dawn tomorrow, by the green lake, ok?" I reported. "Can you...” Isaac began. "No, I have to get everyone, and I must hurry!" And with that, I was gone without a trace.

Tuhua Diary - Day 8

I waited for what seemed liked years, but soon everyone came! We all sat down by a fire that Ashleigh made. We started to discuss how Mr. Woody had turn into a freaky creature. Lots of ideas were born, but all of them were just totally random! But then Brian said that he had found a magical bottle that glowed, the bottle glowed with a liquid that none of his group wanted to try. "Let’s let Mr. Woody drink it! It might help!" I spoke. It took a long time to get the liquid down Mr. Woody’s throat but soon we forced it down. He sat dizzily, and the most wonderful thing I have seen appeared.Mr. Woody's head started shrinking, the body slowly changed and he was back! And he could speak English again! "Thanks Brian for the bottle! I think the bottle helped me because when the boat was struck by the cloud, I jumped off the boat holding a box of Gin! I drank some when I arrived on the Island. For some reason the Gin made me change. And I guess the cloud changed it, but who gives a heck! Yeah! I'm back!" He jumped up with a twinkle in his eye, and started shouted with delight!It was all happy, until Daniel spoke, "So how are we gonna get back?"

Tuhua Diary - Day 9

The question Daniel asked yesterday sent us into a circle of despair. Everyone thought of home, and so yesterday was spent on thinking. But after awhile Mr. Woody cheered us up. "Cheer up, we'll think about it tomorrow, in the mean time let's have a feast! Mclaren, give me the horn thing!" And so we ate liked we never ate before!But that was yesterday, today I saw a sight that was wonderful! "Guys, I just saw the black cloud! It's come back! Let’s go into it again!" I shouted towards Room 9. "It sent us back in time; maybe it will send us back!" Tyler said. "It's worth a try! Everyone! Let’s go towards the beach!So we walked towards the beach, the wind was burning! After awhile the sun vanished, a cloud started circling us. I felt a burning heat in my body, and I changed back into a human! The two spirits, Hannah and Anna changed back too! And Lachlan the skullie changed back into a human! The cloud started to vanish and we found ourselves back in Hamilton! Everyone cheered with happiness strong enough to blow up a city!The cheering was broken when a shout that put us in fright. "Where's Justin?"

Hamilton Times - 17/2/2041Lost Child Appears!Yesterday 3.30pm at Peachgrove intermediate a missing child appeared. He wondered the street as if he didn't know Hamilton. Witnesses said that he appeared from nowhere! A man named Brian Pak asked him who was he, for he looked very frightened. He said he was Justin Marley. Brian took to the police station and Justin went on TV, he said to his parents to come get him. Eventually the next day his parents came, they were very old, roughly 70. And they cried at the very sight of him!It seems that 35 years ago, Justin was missing. And he has returned! He said that he went through a time traveling experience. He has returned to his family.
